Rise, My Soul! Behold, 'Tis Jesus

Music by Albert, Prince Consort, words by Joseph Denham Smith

Rise, my soul! Behold, 'tis Jesus;
Jesus fills my wondering eyes.
See Him now in glory seated,
Where my sins no more can rise.

There in righteousness transcendent,
There He does in heaven appear,
Shows the blood of His atonement
As my title to be there.

All my sins were laid upon Him,
Jesus bore them on the tree;
God, who knew them, laid them on Him,
And, believing, I am free.

God now brings me to His dwelling,
Spreads for me His feast divine,
Bids me welcome, ever telling,
What a portion there is mine.

In that circle of God's favor,
Circle of the Father's love,
All is rest, and rest forever,
All is perfectness above.

Blessed, glorious word "forever!"
Yes, "forever" is the word;
Nothing can the ransomed sever,
Nor divide them from the Lord.
